Kasper’s Online Scheduling supports providers who can perform certain appointment types in more than one operatory at the same time.
This setup ensures patients see accurate availability — avoiding false “No Availability” messages when:
A provider works in multiple operatories.
An appointment type allows multiple operatories and, optionally, double booking.
Example: If “Emergency Exam” is offered by multiple providers, each assigned to more than one Operatory, and double booking is enabled, patients will see all valid open time slots for those providers.
Step-by-Step Setup
1. Assign Operatories in Open Dental
Go to Setup > Schedules.
Select the date and the provider.
Add the Operatories to the provider’s schedule.
Click Save.
2. Assign Operatories to Providers in Kasper
Go to Settings > Online Scheduling > Provider & Operatory Settings.
Click the pencil icon next to the Provider Operatory.
Add the appropriate Operatories.
3. Configure Appointment Type Settings in Kasper
Go to Settings > Online Scheduling > Appointment Settings.
Switch to Advanced View.
a. Add Providers for the Appointment Type
Select the appointment type.
Click the provider field and add the relevant provider(s).
If double booking is allowed, toggle the Allow Double Booking option.
b. Add Operatories for the Appointment Type
Click the pencil icon next to Operatories.
Add the Operatories.
Note: The Operatory list here only shows Operatories linked to the providers assigned to this appointment type (from Provider & Operatory settings). If you don’t see the operatory you need, make sure it’s linked to the provider first.
Testing Your Setup
Open your Online Scheduling link.
Select the appointment type and provider.
Confirm that:
Time slots appear when the provider is available in at least one assigned Operatory.
Double booking works according to your settings.
If the availability looks incorrect:
Recheck provider–Operatory assignments.
Confirm double booking settings.
Verify provider schedules in Open Dental.
Troubleshooting
Always link operatories after selecting providers — otherwise, the operatory list will be empty.
For complex setups, document your provider, operatory, and appointment type configuration before contacting Kasper Support.
